Wow! What An Extraordinarily Bad Idea!
Newt Gingrich 2012. No shit.
Even one of his strongest supporters for president in 2012 admits it is a "very risky choice." But Republicans are in a desperate mood after the fiasco of John McCain's seemingly safe candidacy. Republicans appear chastened by the failure of seeking moderate, independent and even Democratic votes. They are ready to try going back to the "old-time religion."
Well yeah. That's a great idea because that "old-time religion" is sure to lock a stunning 40% of the vote for us.
There is not a single GOP house member in New England. If we want to expand on that record to the entire Northeast - Gingrich is our guy. Man he killed us in 1995 in NJ.
The sad thing is that Kid Various is a Newt Gingrich fan. Say what you will about him, but he is an idea man and a great strategic thinker. Gingrich is the only public figure out there talking about things that Kid Various is thinking about but no one else seems to want to touch like:
- After a nuclear terror attack on one of our cities, the United States will destroy itself. No nation can stand those kind of losses and remain an open and free society.
- One of the greatest failures in Iraq has been the total failure of the civilian bureaucracy to perform at a minimally competent level. Our problems there stem mainly from the fact that we have not been able to marshal the combined resources of the United States in an existential struggle. The interagency process is hopelessly broken.
Mr. Speaker, please, stay home...

If Palin runs for President in 2012, at least she has name recognition going for her... but that may not work in her favor
